Six Years Old and Counting | Los Gatos Childrens Photographer

This year was a milestone – 6 years old and veteran Kindergarteners. Given that, I thought it would be more timely if I didn’t wait until the Christmas holidays to take nice portraits of my twins…as I did last year. hahaha  During these sessions with my girls, the empathy I feel for other parents when they bring their children for a photo shoot is never so deep. While I am confident that I will get wonderful images of my clients’ children during a shoot regardless of how well the parents believe their children are behaving, it’s an entirely different thing with my girls. Somehow, my confidence often becomes frustration. It’s probably because my expectations are unrealistic. In fact, at least for this particular shoot, they certainly were. I thought that since they were now six years old and generally enjoy having their photos taken, I could try a number of things I’d wanted to try in terms of poses, locations and props. I also thought their stamina may have built up. hahaha What was I thinking? Regardless, I’m very happy with what I was able to get during our session; a session that included more break time than actual shooting time. Periods of 5 minutes, 2 minutes and a minute here and there were what I had to work with. Planning ahead and shooting quickly. Good practice, I guess. But someday…

More to come…stay tuned….
